I decided to recreate/redesign a new business card for this small business
located in Whittier, California. They were just going through a rebranding, and needed new business cards to represent them. Keeping in mind the colors – black, red, white – of their company, I created a couple different artboards. This vertical design was the winner.
What I learned from my first freelance opportunity?
- The client is always right. Doesn’t matter what you think looks good or bad, at the end of the night, it’s what he/she likes that counts.
- You have to be flexible and willing to cooperate. Throw away that pride of yours, because it’s only going to weigh you down and prolong the project.
- When the client says they want it done at a specific date, get it done. Sticking to the deadline shows how responsible you are, and that goes a long way in the clientele relationship.
